What do I use to connect the Alpine CDA-7892 to the ipod?
Dec 15, 2006 by Robin W
You can use an iTrip, or an FM transmitter to play the iPod through the car
radio. I have a head unit
Alpine latest and bought a cord that allows me to dock the iPod and use the
stereo to control the iPod. The
Alpine model you have is a little older and does not support it. You could use the RCA outputs on the back of the car to connect the iPod. You can get one of these cords as 10 males from
RadioShack. Hope that helps.

Do i connect the black ground lead to the radio ?

I have an
alpine cda 7892 and has a black wire in the manual it says that it should be screwed to the metal casing or somethin but I see a black wire from the car harness .So do I connect the black
ground to the same wire thats connected to the car hoarness ?
The ground wire is meant to be GROUNDED. Meaning that you should scrape a metal spot clean, and bolt the ground wire to it. This spot will most likely be on the frame of the car itself.
Also, may I ask why you are installing your own system if you know so little? You're risking the frying of your electrical system by your lack of experience.
