Forty-two years ago I purchased a somewhat sporty compact car no one would have ever thought I would have kept so long or up so well. The car still looks new - and smells new. Installed these speakers in the front doors of my 2001 Tahoe. I replaced a set of Infinity Kappa 652.5i that I had used to replace the factory speakers years ago. I wanted to try the Alpines because the Kappas did not hold up well (the back plate fell off one & low ranges were distorted/crackling, the tweeter fell off the other, and the third stopped responding completely). Initial assessment is the Alpines have a much better bass response. With only the front speakers hooked up, the sound throughout the vehicle is full. I listen to music such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd; usually turned up all the way. The sound is crystal clear, even turned up to the max. I have them hooked up to a new JVC KD-A725. I bypassed the factory amp and wired the speakers directly to the stereo. I am so pleased with the sound, that I'm going to purchase the Alpine SPR-60 for the back doors. I had put infinitys in my F250 and ran them with an alpine deck and pioneer elite amp. Sounded ok but the highs were WAYYYYY to high. Hurt my ears. I changed the infinitys out to Focals which I liked much better but still fatigued my ears after a while with the tinny sounding highs. I sold my truck and yanked out the stereo and the amp. Now I have the same stereo and amp reinstalled in my wifes 01' Civic EX coupe. I put these in the front doors and with some customization mounted the tweeters in the factory location. Holy Cow these are great speakers! the best I've heard. And certainly the best I've owned. We cruise around all day with the music playing and it's like an eargasm! Just a pure pleasure to listen to. I cant imagine it getting any better than these for any amount of money.The honda does have a decent sub in the trunk for the big bass notes. I highly recommend these. I plan on putting these in my Tahoe in the very near future!

kicker component speakers Vs Alpine component speakers which one is best among them?

Alpine is certainly one of the best speakers out there. I component of type R right now and Ive never heard a better set of speakers. Kicker is a good line, but the speakers arent just the height of their subwoofers and amplifiers. If you go with the speakers type R, all 4-channel amp that gives 80rms @ 4 ohms will make the speakers sound quality. If u have anything else u might as well check alpine amps M series, or really step up to the PDX 4.100, which could be the best channel 4 amps out there right now.

There's nothing wrong with mixing the Type R / Type X's. between front & rear. You'll find a lot of people don't necessarily stay within the same brand when choosing. The only suggestion I would make is don't waste too much money on buying components for the rear. A simple coaxial Type R would be fine for rear fill/midbass with a nice component set in the front for good sound staging.
The PDX-4.100 will sound really nice on this setup, particularly ran from a CDA-9887 head unit.
