Hi, I bought a new car and I try to get my 200 watt, 8 "Bazooka leaves the back of my old Chevrolet Cavalier
2000. I disconnected everything from the battery, then pulled the wiring where he had been run up the back, but when I got to the very last part in the trunk, I noticed that 2 son copper colored, plain, interlocking, which were connected to the hand some of
Bazooka son, then wrapped in electrical tape. The ends of the son are connected to my two rear speakers factory end. I am unsure if those wires belong to the
Bazooka tube wiring system and if I keep them, or if they are to stay connected to the factory speakers, or if I just leave them dangling or what. I did not install this system, so I have NO IDEA what i'm doing. I figured unwiring speakers were a lot easier than installing them but now i'm really confused. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
*UPDATE/EDIT*
OK I followed all of yours advice and took those wires off then taped back the factory ones. Everything works on the factory speakers still so I guess I didn't screw up :) THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.
As the only person saying how they made it difficult to uninstall:
Oh man you do not even know .. I started at 8:00 this morning and has now ended at 10.40 ... 2 heures and a half! I was careful, and we hope to be able to reuse the system over when you put the tube in my new Versa (because these cable systems are freaking expensive!).
Thank you again, you all!
Take the son of ways they do that beeps the speaker of your tube.
You have disconnected the power tube, but remember the tube plays the bass (music) so it must have something to send audio signals (which come from these two son attached to your rear speakers)
They go with the tube, really - your car does not need them.
I am thinking on buying the 8" 50 watt bazooka tube to put in my 93 s-10 and was wondering wat i need 2 install and do i need to buy the 65 buck kit at circuit city to install or is there a better option.
you really shouldn't get a bazooka.. go for a single voice coil cheap sub like a punch p1 or a pioneer. they will sound much better.. you'l need to buy a small amp and this way is a little more expensive but you will be much happier with the sound
