how do you "break in" a speaker?
Aug 03, 2007 by brian_jkwo
Ive heard you are suppose to "break in" Speakers and Subwoofers before you actually play to their maximum. How do you think about the how and for how long do "break" periods ussually take? I Focal 165 V2, FOCAL 690 CV1 and 2 Alpine Type X by.
speakers that you really "break" per se, are competitions hardcore submarines such as the Cerwin Vega Stroker, Cadence Wild Beast, Juggernaut MMAT, etc.
and since you're talking about quality as focal, you do not need to break em in. Just plug in and play along! Just remember one thing .. Do not turn the amplifier gain wide open! it is a very bad thing, cause too much distortion to your submarines .. I like the sound of Focal speakers .. Alpine Type X's are good subs, they are not broken in.

Infinity Kappa 693.9I
Thanks for submitting your answers..........damn....I have heard it all....heck somebody told me sony had the nicest haha.....the focals...i believe are the nicest...but i wasn't sure.....They are the nicest speakers on sonic electronix and crutchfield...JL Audio is awesome...but I'm looking for what's the nicest brand for a 6 by 9, not subs. The infinities are okay the kappas are amazing, but that's best buy shit....I'm looking for some real audio....
IF THERE IS SOMEBODY OUT THERE THAT TRULY KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT PLEASE NOTIFY ME
well thankyou for submitting....I think I am going to go with the Focals.....Im happy that I asked this question. I was told that Infinities were the best...well at best buy anyways.......right now I have Infinity 96.32i 6 by 9's right now in my vehicle......they're just references....not kappas..........does anyone know if its going to make a big difference if it get the focals?
