No surprise, but it was cost that drove decision to cancel C-130 AMP program
May 17, 2012 | Robins began work on its first C-130 AMP aircraft last August, one of 20 C-130s scheduled to receive the remake under the low-rate initial production phase of the program. Robins was to do ten of the initial aircraft with Boeing, the prime contractor, performing five and a third, competitively selected contractor doing the remainder. The AMP program was to bring long awaited and much needed updates to C-130H2, -H2.5 and -H3 aircraft including a glass cockpit along with head-up displays, six flat-panel full-color displays and night vision capability to increase situation awareness and enhance safety. It also would have achieved avionics commonality across the fleet and new flexibility in assigning aircrew while eliminating the need for one air crew position.

Any experience with Focal amp?
Dec 30, 2007 by Menges
Hi all,
I recently bought 4
Focal Polyglass 5x7 "570CV1 speakers for front and back of my Ford Falcon XT BA MKII (Australian model 2005). The car the head unit plant (or system radio) is installed which, based on the car of my friends, appears to be capable of handling all the speakers, amplifiers and subs very well.
I tried to buy an amp to accompany these speakers - perhaps
Focal FP 4.75 (75W RMS x 4) to stay with the brand
Focal. The speakers corresponding installed in my car driving at max 120W, or 60W RMS, so this amp should be more than enough power to run these speakers.
I was just wondering if anyone has experience with amps and
Focal they would recommend an amp of this trademark. I am somewhat hesitant to look to other brands because I think it's probably better to stick with the same brand audio systems in the car.
Waiting for your comments.

Just aqquired these excelent French speakers which from my reckoning are the biznizz ( Listened to them in a store, not Hifi store so have no idea what amp was connected at the time ! ). Would my old but still funcioning very well Technics amp do for now (as I am on a budget ) until I get another / new amp ?
If so, what OHMS setting should be used for correct sound in/output rating / impedance ?
Many thanks from a would be hifi buff..!
almost all home stereo runs off of 8ohm impedence, so im sure that each of the tower speakers are wired to 8 ohms, and im also assuming that the amp is 4 ohm capable, as most are, so you can wire the two speakers in parallel, and apply a 4 ohm load to your amp and it should sound and run just fine
