NHT is sort of a forgotten hero of the speaker world. They don't have the name recognition of JBL or Polk, but they've consistently made excellent, affordable, speakers since the mid-80s. In 2009 they re-launched as an Internet-direct company, still based in California, with many of their original employees still on board.

The Classic Threes you see here are a, um, classic three-way design. For the top end, there's a 0.75-inch anodized aluminum dome tweeter. This is crossed over at 3.2 kHz to a big 2-inch anodized aluminum dome midrange. While not unheard of in speaker design, most speakers use a more traditional cone driver for the midrange. NHT claims of this layout: "This compact array keeps the drivers in close proximity to each other improving phase (multi-driver timing) coherence. Using 3 drivers also reduces distortion and allows the woofer to concentrate on bass reproduction." Concentrate it does, coming in below 800 Hz. It's a 6.5-inch anodized aluminum cone (seeing a trend?)

i have jbl speaker and one of my tweeters isint working how can i troubleshoot it?

Easiest way ... no special tools are needed ... Complete instructions ...

Remove the tweeter from two speakers. Pay attention to the + and - posts (polarity) of the two son. One of the terminals on the tweeters will be marked in some way (red for + small + and - markings ...). The son will be different colors, or one marked with a stripe. Write son who go to which terminals. Do not let the son of falling within the enclosures. Do not pull hard and unplug the other ends of the son from their terminals. Have a little ribbon ready to be used if necessary to keep the son from falling in.

Put the tweeter recognized speaker problem. If it works, you know the other tweeter is damaged. If this does not work, there are some wires loose in the speaker or damage crossover network.

You can order a replacement driver in a JBL service center and parts department. Search their website.
  • You will need an ohm meter and disconnect the son for the first speaker and your tweeter should be close to 8 ohms if its home or a loudspeaker close to 4 ohms if a loudspeaker car . and if its near zero oms means the coil is shorted and needs replacement. If she reads much higher value of the ohmmeter or do not go to a reading of the voice coil is blown.

i have a JBL GTO75.4 II and i have to install tweeters and crossovers and 4 speakers i know about the speakers how do i install the tweeters and crossovers???
Basically this is how the wiring goes. Amp to cross over. That goes into your "Amp In" "Amp Out" or whatever it should say. Then just wire up the speakers, spkr plus spkr neg, twt plus twt neg. The hard part is usually finding a spot to set the cross over. You could always set the crossover in the trunk, but then you'd have to run wires alllll the way to the tweeters and speakers.
