how many inches of port does a kicker solobaric L7 8" woofer require?
Aug 20, 2009 by Mitch
I recommend getting an airtight container for an 8 "but if you really want a box carrier, I suggest a port 9 or 10 inches, about a high area that is maybe a couple of inches wide.

2 kicker 8" L7's and a kicker # ZX1000.1 amp?
Mar 11, 2009 by Taylor C
I am looking into getting 2
kicker 8" L7"s for my truck and I was wondering if this amp would be the right one for the subs. Also, I don't know whether to get 4 ohm or 2 ohm subs because I don't really know the difference or if it will affect the amp. I am very open to any suggestions but the reason I'm getting 2 eights is that i need to put them under the rear seat and they wont fit very well otherwise.

You can get more bang for your buck with the four ohm subs and a less expensive amp. If you wire the four ohm speakers in parallel you can run a 2 ohm stable mono sub amp. I have an extra Phoenix Gold V8001 for $100 brand new. I have a 99 dodge quad cab and I found a dual 10" sub box that fits under the seat and sounds great, I paid $150 for the box and $200 for MTX 10's. And go for the 10's unless you only listen to rock/country.
