Pioneer Avic F-Series Upgrade Continental U.S. Street Map microSD Card

This has bugs (just like the F Series head units it is intended for). Pioneer sells this as a map update, which presumably it is. It also helps make the touch screen work, where it never did before. But it has bugs: 1. Boots into wrong screen 2. Screen goes black randomly 3. Drops Ipod connection frequently 4. More, noted by others. 1-3 I've been having with increased frequency. The problem is, Pioneer isn't backing the problems. So you'll spend money, see a couple of improvements, then over time have a whole new set of frustrations. The F Series units are much more stable with the Version 2 firmware releases. Until Pioneer supports these, stay away.

This update improved many things, but left many unfixed. Your iPod will still not connect on every startup. The new maps are great but the new GPS system is much slower in responsiveness and routing. The touch screen is much more responsive, which is a great improvement. The startup time doesn't seem much faster. Overall, $60 was a bit much. The map updates should be the only thing you have to pay for. The screen response and other fixes should be free updates.

how do i get my pioneer avic-f900bt to play while im driving?

I have a DVD Pioneer AVIC-F900BT / sat nav head unit and want to know how to get it to play while driving. I know he can do, but I do not want to pay for the info, any suggestions.

If you open your area around your ebrake there should be some sort of wire being spliced there. the reason being that you engage your ebrake causing a ground fault that illuminates your brake light. same basic thing with your DVD player / nav. it must be anchored to play DVDs.

If you remove the splice and ground on the nav / dvd elsewhere. voila problem solved.

Do not forget to do so at your peril, not knowing too much about the systems of 12 volts can start your car on fire and even electrocution.

What kind of installation kit do I need to install a Pioneer AVIC F900bt in-dash?

I have a 2008 Nissan Frontier, four door truck.

Go to your local car audio shop and tell them you want the correct fitting kit for that stereo and that car. Its just an ISO connector that changes the plugin from what you already have to what you will need to plug it in to the back of the stereo.
