pioneer avic-n1 screen does not work, how to fix?
May 23, 2006 by leoracingusa
Pioneer
AVIC-N1 touch screen is black, but still has the touch screen function.
Is it only when you watch a DVD? If so you need to wire a switch on the brake wire so he thinks that your cars parking brake is on. For this you need to land on a wire and connect it to a switch and wire the parking brake on the other side of the switch and then just press the switch then turns off the screen and think that your terminal is paused. The screen will break the wire terminal on the wiring harness. If not this then you only have a bad screen.

How Do I install and BYPASS the video watching for the Pioneer Avic N1?

You dont need a bypass switch for the N-1. All you have to do is ground the light green wire.
If you want to hook it up to a switch, then get a toggle and hook one side up to the light green wire and one side to ground. Then you can turn it off or on.
As far as hooking it up, all you have to do is wire up the harness and run the antenna and the din cables to the brain. On the brain theres only two single wires, one (Pink) needs to be tagged into the vehicle speed sense (VSS) and the other, purple with white, needs to be tagged into the reverse wire of the vehicle. Neither of these wires are required, but they make the gps more accurate and its what makes the speedo thats built in the unit read correctly.
Your choice. Goodluck.
