I was wondering if someone with a Scion tC had a Pioneer Avic Z-2 installed or a Panasonic Strada? And if you do u like the system and is there any bugs or anything you dislike about the system? cause i was planing on buying one for my 2006? and also if you have not already installed can you please email me a photo of the scoreboard in? you just want to see how it looks before you buy !!!!! I never tested the road, but I have installed additional screens Panasonic. nothing spectacular, they were ok, but I have installed and tested the AVIC Z2. I suppose it would be ok, I prefer the pioneer. I think the browser is better on the pioneer. The Pioneer is a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

HERE IS THE SITUATION: MY FRIEND SOLD ME A USED PIONEER AVIC Z1 NAVIGATION HEAD UNIT FOR 600 DOLLARS BUT I ONLY GAVE HIM $300. THE REST I WOULD PAY LATER. WHEN I WAS GETTING IT INSTALLED, THE INSTALLER TOLD ME THAT THE MOTOR CONTROLLING THE FACE WAS GOING BAD BUT IT WAS STILL FUNCTIONAL. HE INSTALLED IT TO MY CAR ANYWAY. I HAD IT FOR ALMOST A MONTH, AND NOW THE FACE HAVE A HARD TIME CLOSING. EVERYTIME I CLOSE IT USING THE CLOSE BUTTON, IT CLOSES AND THEN OPENS HALF WAY, I PRESS IT AGAIN, AND IT OPENS COMPLETELY. I WAS GONNA GIVE IT BACK TO MY FRIEND BUT HE DOESNT HAVE THE $300 ANYMORE, THE FIRST PAYMENT I GAVE HIM....HE TOLD ME, TO USE THE REMAINING $300 I OWE HIM TO GET IT FIXED OR I CAN SELL IT OFF AT EBAY FOR ABOUT $300-$400. i would get it fixed.if it does cost150-250 you are still ahead about $1000 being that the screen cost about 2000 new retail.it sounds like you just need to replace the flex cable. pioneer knows about this problem its quite common with all flip out screens. its actually a $200 flat repair rate on the avic series. they also had a recall on that cable so it worth it to send it in they may fix it free.
