Amazing speakers for the price. I was really amazed at how well these sound. These replaced my factory Bose speakers in my Acura and first time listening to these I felt like I had installed a sound system. Tight Bass, clear mids. I use an iPod through a cassette adapter and these really opened up the sound. I can drive with the windows down and still hear clean crisp sound at high level without distortion. Every now and then I find myself turning down the bass because these can hit low and hit hard.

I just replaced the rear deck speakers of my 99 Mazda 626 with these speakers, and I have to say that for the price you wont find anything better! Installation was relatively easy (keep in mind this is the first time I have actually replaced car speakers) and Pioneer was even kind enough to include screws and wiring. The speakers themselves are great. The bass is tight and strong, but don't expect the same quality as from a purpose-built subwoofer. The high frequencies are neither tinny nor piercing, and the mid-range sounds smooth and natural. I look forward to putting the 6" x 8" 3-way units from Pioneer into the doors and pairing them with the new head unit for a little extra power. I listen to a whole range if music from regular rock and electronic to brutally mechanical industrial and EBM. No matter what type of music is played it sounds great coming through these speakers! I'd most definitely recommend these to somebody looking for great speakers at a great price.

For the price you pay, these are really good speakers. I installed it at the rear for my 2000 mit eclipse and drove them directly from my Pioneer DEH-P5900IB (4x14 RMS) HU. Now, the reason why I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because, I am comparing them with the stock 1-way infinity speakers. The Pioneer is a 3-way, so you will feel the difference in the high and mid range instantly. The low range freq, however, is NOT MUCH better than the stock Infinity; it is only SLIGHTLY better. The real improvement in low freq output for these Pioneer spkers can only be heard IF you play original CDs that is well mixed by the producers, such as Michael Jackson's Dangerous album or Madonna's Immaculate (I am an 80's/90's person). If you burn your own CDs at 128 kbps transfer rate, and play them thru these spkers, the base improvement is only marginal. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Mike Reina and ex-Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, Skysaw presents a delightfully idiosyncratic package with their debut record, 'Great Civilizations.' Though the band is named after a Brian Eno song, Skysaw's sound exhibits progressive tendencies that have more in common with bands like Yes or Mars Volta than the ambient work that Eno is primarily known for. Nonetheless, just as Eno is a kind of "musician's musician," so too is Skysaw a band whose music rewards those with keen ears and an open mind. This does not mean Skysaw's music is inacessible, though -- merely that it has layers which reward multiple listens. Nor does every song on 'Great Civilizations' sound alike -- a synth-heavy rocker built on angular guitar riffs and thundering rhythms might be followed by a bittersweet, mildly psychedelic ballad, adorned with expressive vocals and twinkling arpeggios. Chamberlin's drums are as intricate as they are powerful, holding the album together like steel bolts on a roller coaster.

What amp could be used to fit 4 pioneer 6x9 speakers of 460Watts?
Feb 08, 8916 by Jonfre- There are a ton of amps that would work well. Find a 4 channel amp that has a rating of RMS which is close to the RMS of the speakers. The RMS power rating is what counts, the maximum grade is just garbage.
I have Pioneer 6x9 speakers (TS-A6982R) and I would like to buy 4x6's to compliment them. Any suggestions?

My favorite 4x6 for the money is the Memphis audio 46PL. It's a plate speaker (component style) in the M-Class line with external crossover. Great sound for such a little speaker. I would recommend (no matter what you go with) to add a high-pass crossover to your 4x6, as they will not handle the bass information like the 6x9 will. At the very least a "Bass-Blocker" or simple non-polarized capacitor at around 159uF should work. If you listen to a lot of bass-heavy music loudly, and are not running any kind of electronic crossovers with this, you may want to step that up to a 99uF capacitor. It will sound a little thinner, but will handle more abuse. Install one capacitor per speaker in-line with the positive wire. Make sure you insulate the metal leads from touching any metal and causing a short.
