Bought this amp online thinking I was getting a good deal , bad idea . When i took out the amp from its package i was looking at its features that were appealing to me . Besides its looks i connected the amp in a 4ohm load connection its sounded okay untill i wired it to a 1ohm load all of a sudden i get no sound at all . I checked to see if the protection light was on ( red )and it was green meaning normal operation . Now the amp turns on, but no sound i swapped another amp and i had sound . So my RCA cables are not the problem its the amp's RCA input or the output leading to the speakers that shorted out . Since it has a 1 year warranty I'm trying to have the amplifier fixed or replaced by them ( PowerAcoustik.com ) but I'm having trouble in doing so because it was purchased through online instead of dealer . Since then i requested a return under warranty form and i haven't heard from them . Never again would i buy anything from Power Acoustik .

Got this amp to power to 2-12" kicker solox's first off wrong decision. I must say however this amp will make those subs move and vibrate the car but did a amperage test and max draw was around 140A and this is suppose to be pulling near to 200a. So was not impressed with what is what actually pushing out and my electrical is not the issue. But all in all amp is a good amp will push subs under 1500wrms easily.

I got this on 4 12s and it pounds really hard, Love the amp and getting another one soon. Well recommend

What size amp kit do I need for 2 10inch Orion comp subs & a 5500 watt power acoustik amp?

5500 watt amplifier TRUE will draw over 400 amps, I doubt the car can provide this current.
- Caliber 4. Have you thought about obtaining a 12 and a 15? You could have a lot of power, a better range of bass and better sound quality. Orion is a risky company to buy a 1500 rms 10 "sub in if you ask me.

Dec 17, 2009 by a19bk66Is the power acoustik 5500 bamf amp any good....i have heard some say there way under rated and some say the pieces of crap.... if you have heard of some one that has had one or maybe even had one your self give me some info on it please.I have read reviews on the 5500 and it's a 50/50 deal with the likes and dis-likes.The info on the amp says it push's like 3200 rms watts at 1 ohm.I know you get what you pay for in a amp like a 200watt kicker will cost what they are asking for this thing so i get the idea.Just wondering if it is half as good as what they try to say it is....thanks
